Thoughtly pricing (2026): plans, per-minute rates, add-ons, and a 10,000-minute example

Thoughtly prices its go-to-market voice platform as a bundled subscription: voice, SMS, email, and workflows ship in every plan, and the published entry point is a monthly floor rather than a per-minute rate. That is easy to read and hard to compute, because the numbers that decide a real bill — each plan's allowance and the overage rate above it — are not on the page. This guide covers what the Thoughtly pricing page (accessed 2026-09-08) publishes and how far a 10,000-minute month can be computed from it.

How Thoughtly's pricing model works

Thoughtly publishes three plans (Thoughtly pricing, accessed 2026-09-08):

  • Flex — "Starts at $500 per month." "Most teams start here." The card lists "Voice + SMS + email + workflows," "Unlimited usage across channels," "200+ integrations + REST API," and "34+ languages, voice cloning included." The feature table gives Flex 10 concurrent calls.
  • Scale — "Tailored." Adds "100+ concurrent calls," Auto-QA and evals, "SOC 2 Type II reports + TCPA review," and a "99.9% uptime SLA." No price is published.
  • Enterprise — "Tailored." "For 1M+ minutes / month or regulated verticals," adding "HIPAA + BAA, PCI scope review," dedicated infrastructure, and data residency. No price is published.

Two statements on the same page frame how usage bills. The feature table lists "Voice minutes / month," "SMS / month," and "Emails / month" as Unlimited on all three plans. The FAQ says: "Usage above your plan's monthly allowances is billed in arrears at the end of each cycle. Nothing gets throttled or cut off mid-conversation — you'll see the line items on your invoice." A second answer adds that "The price scales with combined usage volume, not per-channel taxes." (Thoughtly pricing, accessed 2026-09-08.) Read together: plans carry an allowance, usage above it bills after the fact, and neither figure is published. The billing docs add that paid plans "are available exclusively through direct consultation with our sales team." (Thoughtly billing docs, accessed 2026-09-08.)

What's included vs. billed separately

Line item On Thoughtly's published pricing?
Subscription Flex "Starts at $500 per month"; Scale and Enterprise "Tailored"
Included minutes "Unlimited" in the table; the FAQ references "monthly allowances" without a figure
Overage "Billed in arrears at the end of each cycle"; rate not published
Channels Voice, SMS, email, and workflows on every plan; not priced separately
Concurrency 10 (Flex) / 100+ (Scale) / Custom (Enterprise)
Phone numbers BYOC via Twilio or Telnyx on every plan: "No additional Thoughtly charges," you keep paying the carrier. Numbers bought through Thoughtly bill in credits, "No proration"
Voices Stock voices on every plan; premium voices badged "2x cost" or "3x cost" in credits per minute
Auto-QA + evals Scale and Enterprise only
SOC 2 Type II reports Not on Flex; "On request" at Scale; included at Enterprise
HIPAA / BAA, PCI scope review Enterprise only
TCPA / state DNC compliance review Scale and Enterprise
Uptime SLA None on Flex; 99.9% at Scale; Custom at Enterprise
Trial Pricing FAQ: a "30–60 day pilot on Flex." Billing docs: a "14-day free trial," no outbound calling, "automatically deleted" after 14 days unless upgraded

The docs also use credits. The billing page publishes sample rates, explicitly for AppSumo lifetime-deal plans and "subject to change": voice agents 10 credits/min, phone numbers 500 credits/month, SMS 8 credits/message, test-agent chat 3 credits/message, and carrier fees at "200 credits per dollar of fees incurred." Credits "do not roll over month-to-month." No credit-to-dollar purchase price is published. (Thoughtly billing docs, accessed 2026-09-08.)

Worked example: 10,000 minutes a month

Take a common workload: 2,000 calls × 5 connected minutes = 10,000 connected minutes per month, one number, no SMS or email. All arithmetic is illustrative.

Flex, published floor only. The only dollar figure is the $500 starting point. If Flex cost exactly $500 and the table's "Unlimited" minutes applied literally:

$500 ÷ 10,000 minutes = $0.05 per minute, as a lower bound

That is a floor, not a total. Neither the allowance nor the overage rate is published, so the honest form is:

Flex total = $500 + (10,000 − allowance) × overage rate, with both unknowns unpublished.

Credits, AppSumo plans only. Using the documented sample rates — illustrative, since they are stated for AppSumo plans and "subject to change":

10,000 minutes × 10 credits/min = 100,000 credits

  • 1 number × 500 credits/month = 500 credits

= 100,500 credits/month (a "2x cost" premium voice doubles the voice line)

No published conversion turns credits into dollars, so the figure stays in credits. Scale and Enterprise are "Tailored," so no total is computable.

Gotcha checklist

  • "Unlimited" and "allowances" appear on the same page. The table says unlimited minutes; the FAQ bills "usage above your plan's monthly allowances" in arrears, after the cycle closes. Get the allowance and the overage rate in writing.
  • "Starts at" is a floor. $500 is the minimum Flex price; what moves it up is not published.
  • Two trial terms are live. The pricing FAQ describes a "30–60 day pilot on Flex"; the billing docs describe a "14-day free trial" with no outbound calling and automatic deletion at day 14. (Pricing, billing docs, accessed 2026-09-08.)
  • Purchased numbers do not prorate. "Full monthly charge applies regardless of cancellation timing"; imported numbers carry no Thoughtly charge. (BYOC docs, accessed 2026-09-08.)
  • Compliance is tier-gated. SOC 2 Type II reports start at Scale ("On request"); HIPAA/BAA is Enterprise-only. (Thoughtly pricing, accessed 2026-09-08.)

How ThunderPhone prices differ

ThunderPhone publishes one all-in per-minute engine rate — speech recognition, language model, and voice included — pay as you go with no subscription, seat fee, or included-minute block: Spark 2¢/minute, Bolt 5¢/minute, Storm 9¢/minute (unpacked in ThunderPhone pricing explained). The same 10,000-minute scenario computes directly: $200, $500, or $900 per month by engine (illustrative; premium voice or language paths add 3¢/minute, hold bills a flat 2¢/minute, telephony depends on setup). Thoughtly's $500 floor over 10,000 minutes lands exactly on Bolt's 5¢ — but only as a lower bound.

The honest flip side: Thoughtly is selling a bundle. For a revenue team that wants voice, SMS, email, and CRM sync under one contract, one negotiated monthly number can be the simpler buy than a usage meter plus separate messaging tools. At low volume the structures diverge the other way — 1,000 minutes on ThunderPhone is $20–$90 in usage plus setup-dependent telephony, against a $500 floor. ThunderPhone is GDPR and HIPAA compliant — its published pricing lists no compliance add-on fee — and customers remain responsible for configuring their workflows, data handling, recordings, and notices for their own obligations.

FAQ

How much does Thoughtly cost per month?

Flex "Starts at $500 per month"; Scale and Enterprise are "Tailored." No plan publishes a fixed price, an allowance, or an overage rate; paid plans are sold through sales. Thoughtly pricing and billing docs, accessed 2026-09-08.

What is Thoughtly's per-minute rate?

Not published. The table lists voice minutes as "Unlimited," and the FAQ bills usage above "monthly allowances" at an unstated rate. The only per-minute figure is the AppSumo sample rate of 10 credits per minute, with no dollar conversion. Thoughtly pricing and billing docs, accessed 2026-09-08.

Does Thoughtly have a free trial?

Two answers are live. The pricing FAQ says "most teams start with a 30–60 day pilot on Flex." The billing docs describe a 14-day trial with no outbound calling, after which the account is "automatically deleted." Thoughtly pricing and billing docs, accessed 2026-09-08.

What would 10,000 minutes a month cost on Thoughtly?

At least $500 on Flex — a 5¢-per-minute floor — with the real total depending on an unpublished allowance and overage rate. Scale and Enterprise are quote-only. ThunderPhone's all-in rates put the same workload at $200/$500/$900 by engine, illustratively.

Sources and freshness

All Thoughtly claims were checked on September 8, 2026 against the pricing page (including its FAQ answers), the billing docs, the BYOC docs, and the voice BYOK docs. ThunderPhone pricing reflects its published pricing as of September 1, 2026. This guide is documentation-based — no Thoughtly account, quote, invoice, or live call was tested. Three points deserve care: "Unlimited" minutes sit beside an FAQ that bills usage above "monthly allowances"; the pricing FAQ and billing docs describe different trial terms; and the only per-minute figures are AppSumo credit rates with no dollar conversion.
